2018 National Tertiary Students Camp

  • Theme: The Kingdom of Heaven is Near, Am I a Part of It?
  • Date:8 – 9/9/2018

Thank God that the 2018 National Tertiary Students Camp was successfully completed at the Olive Garden in Port Dickson. A total of 55 tertiary students participated in this camp.

The purpose of this camp was to strengthen the biblical knowledge of the youths, to solidify the relationship of the youths, and to strengthen the awareness in preparing for the last days. In conjunction with the theme, “The Kingdom of Heaven is Near,
Am I a Part of It?” this time, the topics of the camp included the signs of the end time, judgment day and the standard of judgment, eschatology, hymnal sessions, and team building activities. The lessons related to the theme were held on Saturday, while Sunday was reserved for outdoor activities. The brothers and sisters of Klang church had prepared many delicious foods for everyone so that the students could remain focused during the lessons and had enough physical strength for various activities.

We sincerely hope that our tertiary youths could self-examine and reaffirm themselves on the importance of preparing for the last days. Many signs are already reminding us that the day of the Lord is not too far from us. At the same time, there is something that deserves our consideration: As we see the increasing frequency of calamities and the numbers of casualties, is the church’s various salvation works of are also increasing?

2018 4th Year Short-Term Theological Training Course

The 2018 4th Year Short-Term Theological Training Course was held from 15th to 24th of January in Olive Garden, Port Dickson for 10 days. It was opened to the freshly graduat-
ed secondary school students, who were waiting for their SPM results, and those who were about to enter tertiary education, but not restricted by age. There was a total of 19 students who participated in this course. The speakers for this course were Pr. Ezekiel Chang and Pr. Nahum Lim, and it was assisted by five facilitators.

The main purpose of this course was to equip our youths with biblical knowledge, solidify the bond among youths, and to prepare them for campus life in tertiary education. The course consisted of the Books of 1 and 2 Timothy, Comparison of Christianity, Campus life, Campus Evangelism, Campus Fellowship, Career Planning for Christians, Personality Analysis and Tertiary Course Selection Assessment, and Evangelism and Comparison of Religions.

The students could easily sense the differences between this course and the YTTC, where less governance and monitoring action were taken by the preachers and facilitators. In this course, students were required to submit an assignment as assessment to complete the course, compared to sitting for an examination in the YTTC. The students also compiled their assignments as a basic and preliminary Bible commentary. Due to the smaller group and the maturity of the students, there was more interaction between the speakers and students. Moreover, the students happily prepared their supper and several Campus Fellowship committee members were requested to share their campus life experiences. Many of them hope and requested to return for the course next year .
