Some think he will delay
Mt 24:48 – But if that wicked servant says to himself, ‘My master is delayed,’

Evil increases
Mt 24:12 – And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold.

Gospel is preached all over the earth
Mt 24:14 – And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

Believers will boast

1 Thess 2:19 – For what is our hope or joy or crown of boasting before our Lord Jesus at his coming? Is it not you?
Son of Man will judge all
Mt 13:49 – So it will be at the close of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous

For the righteous
Glory
Mt 13:43 – Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.
Col 3:4 – When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.
1 Pet 5:1 – So I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, as well as a partaker in the glory that is going to be revealed:
1 Pet 5:4 – And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.
Salvation
Heb 9:28 – so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
1 Pet 1:5 – who by God’s power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
Eternal life
Mt 25:46 – the righteous into eternal life
Jn 6:54 – Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.
Crown
2 Tim 4:8 – Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

Always be with the Lord

Confidence

Praise

Lk 19:17 – And he said to him, ‘Well done, good servant! Because you have been faithful in a very little, you shall have authority over ten cities.’
Be wise
Mt 24:45 – “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?
Mt 25:3 – For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them,
Mt 25:4 – but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.
Mt 25:8 – And the foolish said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.’
Mt 25:9 – But the wise answered, saying, ‘Since there will not be enough for us and for you, go rather to the dealers and buy for yourselves.’
Care for the brethren
Mt 25:35 – For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
Mt 25:36 – I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’
Mt 25:37 – Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?
Mt 25:38 – And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
Mt 25:39 – And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
Mt 25:40 – And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’
Do work as assigned
Mt 24:45 – “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom his master has set over his household, to give them their food at the proper time?

Mk 13:34 – It is like a man going on a journey, when he leaves home and puts his servants in charge, each with his work, and commands the doorkeeper to stay awake.

Use well the talents that are given

Lk 12:47 – And that servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating.
Blessing
Mt 24:46 – Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes.
Mt 25:34 – Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.
Lk 12:37 – Blessed are those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes. Truly, I say to you, he will dress himself for service and have them recline at table, and he will come and serve them.
Lk 12:38 – If he comes in the second watch, or in the third, and finds them awake, blessed are those servants!
Reward for servants who use talents well
Mt 25:28 – So take the talent from him and give it to him who has the ten talents.
Mt 25:29 – For to everyone who has will more be given, and he will have an abundance. But from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away.
Lk 12:48 – But the one who did not know, and did what deserved a beating, will receive a light beating. Everyone to whom much was given, of him much will be required, and from him to whom they entrusted much, they will demand the more.
Lk 19:26 – ‘I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but from the one who has not, even what he has will be taken away
Reward for servants who are found to be ready
Mt 25:10 – And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut.

Exhortations
Eagerly await the coming
Mk 15:43 – Joseph of Arimathea, a respected member of the Council, who was also himself looking for the kingdom of God, took courage and went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus.
Lk 12:36 – and be like men who are waiting for their master to come home from the wedding feast, so that they may open the door to him at once when he comes and knocks.
Lk 23:51 – who had not consented to their decision and action; and he was looking for the kingdom of God.
Rom 8:23 – And not only the creation, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.
Rom 8:25 – But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
1 Cor 1:7 – so that you are not lacking in any spiritual gift, as you wait for the revealing of our Lord Jesus Christ
Phil 3:20 – But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,
1 Thess 1:10 – and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, Jesus who delivers us from the wrath to come.

Heb 9:28 – so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.
1 Pet 1:6 – In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials
1 Pet 1:7 – so that the tested genuineness of your faith–more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire–may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
2 Pet 3:12 – waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set on fire and dissolved, and the heavenly bodies will melt as they burn!
Jude 1:21 – keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
Rev 22:20 – He who testifies to these things says, “Surely I am coming soon.” Amen. Come, Lord Jesus!
Watch, stay awake, be aware
Mt 24:37 – As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Mt 24:38 – For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day when Noah entered the ark,
Mt 24:39 – and they were unaware until the flood came and swept them all away, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Mt 24:42 – Therefore, stay awake, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.
Mt 24:43 – But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what part of the night the thief was coming, he would have stayed awake and would not have let his house be broken into.
Mt 24:44 – Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.
Mt 25:13 – Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.
Mk 13:35 – Therefore stay awake–for you do not know when the master of the house will come, in the evening, or at midnight, or when the cock crows, or in the morning–
Mk 13:37 – And what I say to you I say to all: Stay awake.

Be prepared, be ready
Mt 24:44 – Therefore you also must be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.

Do not be surprised
Mt 24:6 – And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet.

Mk 13:7 – And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place, but the end is not yet.
Mk 13:23 – But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand.
Jn 5:28 – Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice
1 Thess 5:2 – For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night.
1 Thess 5:3 – While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.
1 Thess 5:4 – But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief.

Be holy and blameless
Romans 13:11 – Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed.
Romans 13:12 – The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Romans 13:13 – Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in quarreling and jealousy.
Romans 13:14 – But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.
1 Cor 1:8 – who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thess 3:13 – so that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
1 Thess 5:23 – Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Pet 1:14 – As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance,

Do not be led astray
Mt 24:4 – And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray.
Mt 24:24 – For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to lead astray, if possible, even the elect.
Mt 24:25 – See, I have told you beforehand.
Mk 13:5 – And Jesus began to say to them, “See that no one leads you astray.
Mk 13:6 – Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and they will lead many astray.
Lk 21:8 – And he said, “See that you are not led astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!’ and, ‘The time is at hand!’ Do not go after them.
2 Thess 2:3 – Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction
Be patient and endure
Mt 24:13 – But the one who endures to the end will be saved.
Lk 21:19 – By your endurance you will gain your lives.
Rom 8:25 – But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
2 Tim 4:2 – preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
Jas 5:7 – Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.
Jas 5:8 – You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
Rev 3:10 – Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.
Have faith
Lk 18:8 – I tell you, he will give justice to them speedily. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on earth?
Heb 10:35 – Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
Heb 10:36 – For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
Heb 10:37 – For, “Yet a little while, and the coming one will come and will not delay;
Heb 10:38 – but my righteous one shall live by faith, and if he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
Heb 10:39 – But we are not of those who shrink back and are destroyed, but of those who have faith and preserve their souls.

Do not be ashamed of Jesus
Mk 8:38 – For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels.”
Lk 9:26 – For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed when he comes in his glory and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.
2 Tim 1:12 – which is why I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed, and I am convinced that he is able to guard until that Day what has been entrusted to me.
Be self-controlled and sober-minded
2 Tim 4:5 – As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
1 Pet 1:13 – Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
1 Pet 4:7 – The end of all things is at hand; therefore be self-controlled and sober-minded for the sake of your prayers.
Keep the commandment
1 Tim 6:14 – to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ,
1 Tim 6:15 – which he will display at the proper time–he who is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords,
Have hope
Rom 8:25 – But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
1 Thess 4:13 – But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.
Hold fast
Rev 2:25 – Only hold fast what you have until I come.
Rev 3:11 – I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.
Do according to his will
Mt 7:21 – “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
Lk 12:47 – And that servant who knew his master’s will but did not get ready or act according to his will, will receive a severe beating.
Increase and remain in love
1 Thess 3:12 – and may the Lord make you increase and abound in love for one another and for all, as we do for you,
Jude 1:21 – keep yourselves in the love of God, waiting for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.
Meet together; encourage one another
1 Thess 4:18 – Therefore encourage one another with these words.
Heb 10:25 – not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Preach the word; reprove, rebuke, exhort
2 Tim 4:2 – preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching.
2 Tim 4:5 – As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.
Proclaim the Lord’s death
1 Cor 11:26 – For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
Cast off works of evil
Rom 13:12 – The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
Set hope completely on God’s grace
1 Pet 1:13 – Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Be at peace
2 Pet 3:14 – Therefore, beloved, since you are waiting for these, be diligent to be found by him without spot or blemish, and at peace.
Be reasonable
Phil 4:5 – Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand;
Be steadfast, immovable; abound in the work of God
1 Cor 15:58 – Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.
Do not grumble against one another
Jas 5:9 – Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door.
Rejoice in suffering
1 Pet 4:13 – But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.
Abide in Him
1 Jn 2:28 – And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.
Keep the words
Rev 22:7 – “And behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
God’s preservation of believers for that day
1 Cor 1:8 – who will sustain you to the end, guiltless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
