Mt 1:1 – The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.
Mt 9:27 – And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying aloud, "Have mercy on us, Son of David."
Mt 12:23 – And all the people were amazed, and said, "Can this be the Son of David?"

Significance of “Son of David”
God’s promise to David (2 Sam 7:12-16; 1 Chr 17:11-14)
The throne of David and his son shall be established forever (2 Sam 7:16; 1 Chr 17:14)
Prophecies concerning the Son of David (Isa 9:6-7; 11:1-10; Jer 33:15-17; Ezek 34:23-24; 37:24-25; Hos 3:5; Amos 9:11; cf. Acts 15:16-17)
Jesus Christ is given the throne of David (Lk 1:32-33)
Jesus is David’s son as well as his Lord (Mt 22:42-45; Mk 12:35-37; Ps 110:1)
Jesus is also called the “Son of God,” a term signifying that Jesus is the anointed king (see <topic id=“755” startswith=“Jesus is God’s anointed king” nth=“1”>Son of God</topic>)
