God and the church
The church belongs to God
Acts 20:28 – Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
1 Cor 1:2 – To the church of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints together with all those who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, both their Lord and ours:
1 Cor 10:32 – Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God,
1 Cor 11:16 – If anyone is inclined to be contentious, we have no such practice, nor do the churches of God.
1 Cor 11:22 – What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I commend you in this? No, I will not.
1 Cor 15:9 – For I am the least of the apostles, unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.

God adds members to the church
Acts 2:41 – So those who received his word were baptized, and there were added that day about three thousand souls.
Acts 2:47 – praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
God has obtained her with his own blood
Acts 20:28 – Pay careful attention to yourselves and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to care for the church of God, which he obtained with his own blood.
God empowers members with gifts
1 Cor 12:6 – and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who empowers them all in everyone.
God arranged the members

God gave Christ as head over all things to the church

The growth of the church is from God

Christ and the church
Christ is the head and the church is His body
1 Cor 12:12 – For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
1 Cor 12:27 – Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it.
Eph 1:22 – And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church,
Eph 1:23 – which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.

The church belongs to Jesus Christ
Mt 16:18 – And I tell you, you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Rom 16:16 – Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ greet you.
Eph 5:27 – so that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish.

Christ appoints gifts in the church
1 Cor 12:5 – and there are varieties of service, but the same Lord;

Christ builds the church

Christ Jesus is the cornerstone of the church

The Holy Spirit and the church
The Spirit distributes gifts in the church
1 Cor 12:7 – To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good.
1 Cor 12:8 – To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,
1 Cor 12:9 – to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit,
1 Cor 12:10 – to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.
1 Cor 12:11 – All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, who apportions to each one individually as he wills.
In one Spirit we were all baptized into one body
1 Cor 12:13 – For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body–Jews or Greeks, slaves or free–and all were made to drink of one Spirit.
The church is the dwelling place for God by the Spirit
Eph 2:22 – In him you also are being built together into a dwelling place for God by the Spirit.
Analogies of the church
Body
1 Cor 10:17 – Because there is one bread, we who are many are one body, for we all partake of the one bread.
1 Cor 12:12 – For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.
1 Cor 12:13 – For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body–Jews or Greeks, slaves or free–and all were made to drink of one Spirit.

1 Cor 12:24 – which our more presentable parts do not require. But God has so composed the body, giving greater honor to the part that lacked it,

House of God

Spiritual house, holy priesthood

Acts 6:7 – And the word of God continued to increase, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests became obedient to the faith.
Acts 9:1 – But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest
Acts 9:10 – Now there was a disciple at Damascus named Ananias. The Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias." And he said, "Here I am, Lord."
Acts 9:19 – and taking food, he was strengthened.For some days he was with the disciples at Damascus.
Acts 9:26 – And when he had come to Jerusalem, he attempted to join the disciples. And they were all afraid of him, for they did not believe that he was a disciple.

Acts 21:4 – And having sought out the disciples, we stayed there for seven days. And through the Spirit they were telling Paul not to go on to Jerusalem.
Acts 21:16 – And some of the disciples from Caesarea went with us, bringing us to the house of Mnason of Cyprus, an early disciple, with whom we should lodge.
Children
Jn 1:12 – But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,
Jn 11:52 – and not for the nation only, but also to gather into one the children of God who are scattered abroad.
Rom 8:16 – The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,
Rom 8:17 – and if children, then heirs–heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.
Rom 8:21 – that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to decay and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God.

Elect

Those who call on the Lord
Acts 2:21 – And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.'
Acts 9:14 – And here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call on your name."
Acts 9:21 – And all who heard him were amazed and said, "Is not this the man who made havoc in Jerusalem of those who called upon this name? And has he not come here for this purpose, to bring them bound before the chief priests?"
Rom 10:12 – For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all who call on him.

Heirs

Those who love God and the Lord Jesus

Offspring
