Always my love and gratitude to God

Ipoh Church  |  Sis Lai May  |Audio

Hallelujah, thank the Lord Jesus and all glory to Him. I am Sister Lai May from TJC Ipoh. This is my testimony to thank and praise the Lord Jesus.

I was admitted to the Ipoh General Hospital on 25 August 2022 for a kneecap replacement operation. Previously, I was treated at the orthopaedic clinic for over a year and did physiotherapy exercise to treat my knee pain. However, the pain persisted, and I had to carry my right leg into the car each time I drove. It continued to deteriorate and meanwhile I kept praying to God that the orthopaedic doctor would perform the kneecap replacement surgery for me as soon as possible. Thank God the doctor agreed to schedule an operation and I only had to wait for about a year. This was considered fast, as some patients had to wait for years.

This happened during the time of Covid-19 pandemic, and I was very worried and prayed fervently that the Almighty God would protect and keep me safe from the virus while in the hospital.

On the morning of the operation, I was wheeled into the waiting room which was next to the operating theatre. There was another patient waiting. I was feeling scared, fearful, and stressed due to the impending surgery. The night before the surgery, I was asked to sleep and rest but I could not sleep at all. I just spent the whole night praying to God to grant me a safe and successful operation.

I was feeling impatient and after waiting for about 45 minutes, the anaesthesiologist announced that there might be a chance that the operation might be postponed due to the repairs and cleaning procedure of the equipment which would be used. They told us to wait for further updates on the new date for the operation. Upon hearing the news on the delayed operation, I was upset and feeling worried. I couldn’t imagine the disappointment if the operation was postponed after going through all the painful tests that were difficult to endure such as the X- rays scan, electrocardiography, regular check up with the doctors, echocardiography, counselling and so forth. I was in a state of anguish and distress. I kept praying to our Lord God in heaven for the operation to continue and not to be postponed because it might take a longer time to get another date for the operation.

Thank the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ for He answered my prayers. Just as the orthopaedic doctor was about to reschedule the next date for the surgery, suddenly the anaesthesiologist announced that patients going for partial anaesthetic operation could carry on, and I was one of them. That meant I could proceed with the operation as planned. It was such a relief! I did not hesitate for a second to first give thanks and praise to the Lord God in heaven for answering my prayer.

During the operation, I could hear the procedures. There were sounds like sawing of my knee, but I was not scared becauseI remembered God was really here with me. Thank the Lord Jesus that the operation went smoothly without any problem. All praise to our Lord God in heaven for the love, mercy, and grace upon me. Amen.
