In the name of Lord Jesus I testify on how did I come to True Jesus Church (TJC) and the incident related to the signage of the Malacca Prayer House.
My name is Sis. Peggy Leong from TJC Malacca.
I was exposed to Christianity since young as I attended a Convent school. My niece, who was a new believer then, was brought to TJC by her school teacher (a member of TJC Peel Road, Kuala Lumpur). One day, my niece told me about the Holy Spirit and other teachings of TJC. I was curious to know about the Holy Spirit as this topic was never talked about in other secular churches. She therefore encouraged me to go to the prayer house in Malacca. She tried to give me the address, but she had just the road’s name. I could not locate the prayer house based on that, and without any other details or signage.
After some time, my niece took me to TJC at Peel Road, Kuala Lumpur. I saw it for the first time how members prayed with the Holy Spirit. I was frightened and wanted to walk away; but could not, due to the limited walking space as everyone was kneeling in prayer around me. Later, the members explained the meaning of speaking in tongue to me.
During one of the school holidays, my niece from Kuala Lumpur came to spend her holidays in Malacca. Together, and with the full address, we went to look, and successfully located the prayer house! The prayer house was the residence of the late Dns. Lee Siew Choo, but it was locked as it was not service time nor was the late Dns. Lee at home then. Thank God that I started attending services at the prayer house and learned more about the truth.
I was baptised in 1972. I participated in many spiritual convocations organised by TJC in West Malaysia and Singapore. I also attended biblical seminars and theological courses in Singapore. My faith and knowledge of the truth grew.
One day, a member asked me why did the prayer house not carry any signage “True Jesus Church”. I asked the late Dns. Lee about this matter, whose response was that she preferred not to have any signboard put up since the house was her residence too. I accepted her explanation, but constantly kept the matter in mind. The matter just puzzled me as to me, it was unusual not to have the name, TJC at a place of worship.
I followed a group of church members to visit the churches in Taiwan in I978. We were there also to accompany the returning Malaysian preachers home. They had completed their training at the theological seminary in Taiwan.
At TJC Hualien, I was asked to share on the prayer house in Malacca. After the prayer, when I was on the pulpit ready to speak, I suddenly lost my voice. No matter how hard I tried, I could not utter any word, it was just soundless; as though I had turned dumb. I began to panic! Pr. Chen Heng Dao (now an elder) of Taiwan, whom I was familiar with, saw my predicament and immediately came to my rescue. He spoke on my behalf! Amazingly, he spoke what was I had in mind: having a signage for the prayer house.
Months after we returned to Malaysia, to my amazement and joy, the signage “True Jesus Church” was put up at the Malacca Prayer House. Since then, the number of members of the prayer house increased gradually. True Jesus Church Malacca was later established in 1988. Thank God for His wonderful arrangement, and for the love showered by a preacher in suggesting putting up the signage and exalting the name of God! In Exodus 20:24 it says, “An altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you”. Praise the Lord! Amen.
