My Impression on the Honor Senior Members’ Day (30 June 2019)
In the name of Lord Jesus, I share my impression on the recent HSM day on the 7th July 2019. The HSM is held annually where all senior members of TJC, aged 60 years and above, are invited to this event to gather at the house of God to worship Him and sing praises to glorify Him.
My first impression when I arrived at PJ church on that Sunday morning was “Wow!! This an auspicious day!!”. I was overwhelmed with awe by the delightful smiles and excitement on the faces of many elderly members. Some were busy putting on their corsages and some were assisted by younger members who were very helpful.
There were more than 180 senior members across TJC Central Region churches who attended this event. I stared at the senior members in wonderment because I had never quite seen some of them in this stately manner. The senior brothers were dressed up smartly. The senior sisters put on their best dresses, hands, and their hair done up with makeup, all looking very much forward to this special day. I couldn’t quite recognize some of them on that day. These senior members who usually work in the kitchen to prepare food during spiritual meetings or seminars are typically casually dressed. I would see them drenched in sweat, with a neck around a towel, and faces, oily, from all the labor of love in the kitchen. It was heart-warming to see them in their best form today.
I would like to thank the CR churches for organizing such an event for our senior members who are truly appreciative of it. On this day, our senior members are made special because they are respected, honored, remembered and showered with love and attention. Most of all, the senior members were truly happy and enjoyed themselves on this day. This event is a day they all look forward to every year. Praise our Lord Jesus.

Malay-speaking Short Term Theological Training Course
In the name of Lord Jesus I share about the 2019 Malay-speaking short-term theological training course. Time flies, I have been a facilitator for the Malay-speaking theological training course for 3 years. Students from the first batch of West Malaysia Malay-speaking short-term theological training courses have graduated this year. I sincerely thank the Lord, because, with God-loving hearts, these 7 students were able to be determined to complete the 3-year theological training course. Even though they were different in terms of ethnicity, language, and lifestyle, they lived as one family in the Lord.
Among them were those from the Northern region – Pengkalan Hulu and Alor Setar, Southern region – Johor Jaya and Seremban, Perak – Tapah, inland areas – Pos Dipang, and Central region – Subang and Petaling Jaya. I admired sister Suli very much because even though she was from Gua Musang (Inland areas), a remote area difficult to access even by car, she had a heart of yearning for God’s word. Every year she would overcome various difficulties and leave her two young children in order to attend and complete this 3-year theological course. I truly adore this spirit, one that is worthy for everyone to learn from. We believers living in cities cannot compare with the godliness and god-fearing attitude of this sister despite having transport to go to church.
In this year’s group of 25 students were a mixture of both good and ill-behaving students. They were sometimes invited have a “tea session” with the preacher. Thank God, because of the love of God, the gathered together to learn the word of God together because of God’s grace, 7 students received the precious Holy Spirit. It is hoped that in this new year 2020, the year 1 and 2 students would continue to participate in Malay-speaking Short Term Theologi cal Training Course without fear of having to go through difficulty or having to sit for tough exams! May all of them enjoy God’s grace and be able to work for their respective churches!
