Background

In the late 1990s, the membershp in the True Jesus Church Petaling Jaya was about 450, comprising of members from Petaling Jaya (PJ) and Subang Jaya (SJ). As the membership grew in PJ TJC, there was a necessity to look for an alternative place of worship. Since members from SJ made up of about 40% of the membership, the CMC of PJ TJC at that time decided to setup a place of worship in Subang Jaya.

When the PJ TJC started cell group fellowships in 1995, there were three main groups in Subang Jaya, namely the Agape group, Emmanuel group, and the USJ 9-22 group (Canaan group). Home fellowships were held once a month and home evangelistic service per quarter. These activities helped to strengthen the members’ faith and new members were added to the church.

First church building

On 3rd May 1996, the building committee of Subang Jaya TJC purchased four adjacent office lots at Subang Mewah at a cost of RM 185,000.00 per lot. The four adjacent lots were carefully selected with two lifts servicing the building at both ends, allowing proper renovation (adjacent walls could be broken down) to provide a large worship hall, office space, religious education classrooms and dining facility.

The commercial building was completed and taken possession in September 1999. The renovation work was done simultaneously and was completed in December 1999 at a total cost of about RM 1.2 million. Praise the Lord Jesus that the building was dedicated on the 6th of August 2000.

Second church building

With the expansion of membership, the CMC Subang Jaya TJC decided to acquire a new building. Thank the grace of God that the Subang Jaya TJC managed to purchase a semi-detached industrial lot at RM 4.6 million on the 15th of April 2013; of which RM 2.5 million was in the form of loans from GA, other churches, and local members. 

Phase 1 of the renovation project which cost approximately RM 1 million involved building a mezzanine floor in the church hall and covering up the second floor. This would increase the floor space by 2,200 square feet to the existing church hall to accommodate more members. Even though we had gone through a few times of MCO and EMCO between 2021 and 2022, we managed to complete the renovation. Praise the almighty God that this new SJ TJC building was fully furnished and dedicated to the Lord on 23rd July 2023.

Branching out and set up of Puchong Church

Due to the increasing of membership in Puchong area, we have started services in Puchong and by the grace of God and the helps of members in Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya and Central Region, Puchong Church was set up in year 2020.

Hope that our Lord Jesus will continue to guide us in our journey of faith and we are well prepared for the second coming of our Lord Jesus.
